Welding process parameters for crane arm
Welding current: The selection of welding current should be determined based on factors such as the diameter of the welding rod, the thickness of the weldment, the form of the joint, and the spatial position of the weld seam. Generally speaking, excessive or insufficient welding current can affect the quality of welding. For WELLOX960 high-strength steel, special attention should be paid to the selection of welding current to ensure the mechanical properties of the welded joint.
Electrode diameter: The selection of electrode diameter depends on factors such as the thickness of the weld, the form of the joint, the position of the weld seam, and the welding level. For different welding positions, the diameter of the welding rod varies. For example, for flat welding, a larger diameter of the welding rod can be selected, while for vertical welding, horizontal welding, and overhead welding, a smaller diameter needs to be selected.
Preheating temperature: Preheating can reduce thermal stress during the welding process and prevent the formation of cracks. For WELLOX960 high-strength steel, the preheating temperature is usually between 100-150 ℃ to ensure the mechanical properties of the welded joint.
Welding layers: In general, except for thin plates, multi-layer welding is used for the welding of lifting arms. The thickness of each weld seam should not exceed 4-5mm to reduce deformation of the welded components.
Post weld heat treatment: Post weld heat treatment can improve the mechanical properties of welded joints and prevent the occurrence of cracks. Heat treatment should comply with relevant standards, such as JB/T 6046.
The influence of welding process on the quality of the crane arm: Welding process directly affects the strength and durability of the crane arm. Unreasonable welding process parameters may lead to welding defects such as cracks, lack of fusion, etc., thereby affecting the service life and safety of the crane arm. Therefore, selecting appropriate welding process parameters and conducting strict welding quality control are the key to ensuring the quality of the crane arm.
